Scholarship Description:

For the educational year 2020-21, the UCD School of Education welcomes exceptional applicants to Ad Astra PhD Grant. The grant system is distributed to local as well as foreign students.

The grant offers complete-time position to work at the UCD School of Education for the three-year, entire length of the PhD program containing full tuition fees, a living allowance and research fund.

Host College/University:

University College Dublin was established in 1854 and recognized as second highest rated Irish university.

University College Dublin has an excellent status for its educational capabilities and for its research. It offers its students a wide range of graduate-level courses and provides them full assistance in achieving their career aspirations.

Degree level:

PhD degree program.

Field of Study:

The studentships are granted in the fields that the university offers.

Scholarship Award: 

The grant afforded full reimbursement for tuition fees: a € 18,000 annual allowance to cover living costs, and a € 4,000 work grant.

Nationalities:

Aspirants from across the globe are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

The conditions for qualification are as follows;

  • Applicants have high grades in a comparable Masters degree.
  • Applicants have an educational experience in education, and/or study of children and young people.

Applying procedure Instructions:

The following application advice is intended for candidates who wish to apply for a scholarship:

  • To qualify for the scholarship, candidates should first be accepted to a university PhD degree course. All candidates must apply their applications via email after enrollment to gabriela.martinezsainz@ucd.ie.
  • Candidates need to submit along certificate, copies of academic records (undergraduate and postgraduate, Resume and a declaration of sponsorship of no more than two pages and recommendation letter.
  • Applicants will have to meet the academic admission standards for their course to research at University College Dublin.
  • All applicants are required to show evidence of English proficiency.
