Summary:

Summary: The U.S. Mission in Dar es Salaam is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Warehouse Worker (Warehouseman/Truck Driver) in the General Service Section.

Supervisory Position: No

Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: No

Duties

In support of the warehouse operations, Position operates and maintains heavy duty trucks, vehicles, and equipment such as forklifts. Position works with the labor crew performing various kinds of unskilled manual work and skilled manual supply duties at the Embassy warehouse, offices, residences, and other locations as needed. Position is supervised by the Warehouse Foreman.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Two years experience in truck driving is required. One year of warehouse experience or equivalent combination of warehouse and labor activities is required.

Education Requirements:

Completion of Elementary School (Standard VII) is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Level II (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/writing/reading of English is required.

Level III (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/writing/reading of Kiswahili is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to perform moderately heavy work including heavy lifting at times. Class D and E driving license is required.
